MALA - YOGI Necklace
Accessory - Meditation
Malas have a very powerful effect on the mind, body, and spirit. They are used to help increase focus and concentration and possibly activate a healing response by lowering heart rate and reducing blood pressure. Using a mala could help reduce stress and balance one’s emotions.
The Meaning in Malas' Traditional 108 Beads
There are many theories behind the significance of the number 108, which has long been considered a sacred number in Hinduism. One theory says that number 1 stands for God, the universe or your own highest truth; 0 stands for emptiness and humility in spiritual practice; and 8 stands for infinity and timelessness. It offers a reflection of something in the wearer’s own journey, so in that way the mala becomes whatever the wearer intends for it.
How to Use Mala Beads for Meditation
Choose a spot and sit comfortably with your spine straight and your eyes closed. Take a few
deep breaths to center and align yourself with your intention.
If you have one, use a mantra for this practice, chanting loudly or silently.
Hold your mala in your right hand, draped between your middle and index fingers.
Starting at the guru bead, use your thumb to count each smaller bead, pulling it toward you as you recite your mantra. Do this 108 times, traveling around the mala, until you once again reach the guru bead.
If you want to continue the meditation, instead of passing over the guru bead, simply reverse direction and begin again.

This is me
I grew up in the small and diverse country of Switzerland. Within its small borders Switzerland houses four languages, each language bearing its own unique culture, something I find absolutely riveting. To boot, the landscape of mountains and plateaus is breathtakingly beautiful. Even so my heart continuously pulls me to travel to faraway places and find new adventures and beauty in all corners of the earth.
In 2009 I met my husband in Las Vegas. Three years later he proposed while we were travelling through China and a year later we got married in Italy. After travelling through New Zealand and French Polynesia and then finishing up our trip in L.A., we decided we wanted one last big adventure before having kids. At that time I gave up my career as HR Manager and Coach to move across the globe with my husband’s company to Texas. One year later our daughter Sophie was born and one year later our son Aiden completed our family. It hasn’t been easy being so far away from home and family, and I often find myself frustrated, at times even lost and closed off. It’s much too easy to lose and barricade oneself.
Going through these difficult times made me do some soul searching. What makes ME happy? Luckily I needn’t look far. Yoga and aromatherapy have always been part of my life, all I had to do is thrust them back into the forefront. Yoga and aromatherapy have given me the tools to recharge, channel my emotions and set my creativity free.
I took my very first yoga class with my mom as a teenager. She inspired and encouraged me to do yoga and later to become a yoga teacher. My aromatherapy journey started 15 years ago when a friend exposed me to homeopathy and aromatherapy. Then and there my enthrallment to the power of plants was born. This magic pulled me into a full education in aromatherapy. After graduating I first laid my focus on the healing property of essential oils. More recently I threw out all my conventional cosmetics and toiletries, and instead, started creating my own! Not until I joined the Teacher Training Program at Inspire Yoga did the obvious idea of combining aromatherapy and yoga strike me. With my knowledge of aromatherapy, I am able to create a very unique yoga experience. This is how allsenses.yoga was born.
This is where my journey has brought me, and all the pieces to my puzzle are starting to come together. I feel complete and overjoyed at the prospect and opportunity of doing what I love. I’m living my dream and it’s my hope to inspire the people around me, just as I have been inspired on and off my yoga mat.
Life for me is all about balance. YIN and YANG. I love teaching challenging and creative Vinyasa Flows and countering these with grounding and balancing Yin classes.
“Yoga is about clearing away whatever is in us that prevents our living in the most full and whole way. With yoga, we become aware of how and where we are restricted — in body, mind, and heart — and how gradually to open and release these blockages. As these blockages are cleared, our energy is freed. We start to feel more harmonious, more at one with ourselves. Our lives begin to flow — or we begin to flow more in our lives.”
